The PX5 series is aimed for tech-savvy consumers that demand high definition plasma TVs without the heartbreaking price. At an affordable price, the series proudly offers XGA level resolution on all of its sizes with the X-studio function supported by the revolutionary 9-in-2 memory card slot. High-definition high-end plasma TVs will no longer be a dream to the normal consumers.

The PX5 series is expected to co-lead LG Electronics’ booming plasma TV sales with the market leading PX4 series. While the PX4 continues LG Electronics’ domination in the begginer to intermediate Plasma TV market, the PX5 plans to open a new niche by luring all the tech and price sensitive consumers. With the two mass marketed plasma TVs leading away, LG Electronics plans to become the No.1 PDP manufacturer by 2006.

Product wise, the highlight of the PX5 series is definitely the XGA-level high definition picture quality. Once known to be a feature only for the very top products, LG Electronics has once again upped its standards by offering it to the mass market. The high definition pictures will fully realize HD sources to the samllest detail and realize immaculate moving pictures on the big size TVs.

Also only seen on the LG Electronics’ top models, the PX5 series offer the extremely convenient X-Studio function. Users can easily enjoy large sized high definition digital photos on the screen with music through the X-studio function, the fastest, easiest and most convenient way to view and share digital photos with family and friends. All of the PX5 series will offer slide shows, MP3 music & other functions of the X-Studio through the TV by simply inserting a memory card in LG Electronics’ 9-in-2 card slot, which supports 9 different memory cards with just 2 slots.

To maximize picture quality PX5 has implemented the upgraded and improved New XD-Engine chip. The chip enhances low-resolution analog signals to high-definition levels, providing vibrant, clean and detailed picture quality never seen in normal analog TVs.

Other functions such as SRS Trusurround, Picture-In-Picture and Picture-Out-Picture are all included for the comfort of the users. A diverse option of interfaces, including the new loss free HDMI connection, will also be available for easy and effective connectivity with various AV equipments.

The PX5 series is planned to offer a 42-inch model at the Asia and Europe market while offering an extra 50-inch model at the US market. It is expected to enter the Asia & Middle East Market by the end of May or June, the US Market by May and the European Market by September. They are expected to be sold at most stores that handle consumer electronics.
